I have finally got the go ahead for a PINK POOL NIGHT at Wellington Civic and Leisure Centre on the 28th January 2012 to help raise funds for Swimming After Surgery (SAS).
The water will be dyed pink for an hour and will disperse naturally through the pool filtration system.
I am now busy preparing posters, tickets and organising raffle prizes. Anyone who doesn't want to wear something pink on the night is offered to pay a forfeit to help raise funds. I already have a few takers for this option.
So this busy bee is now off to get things organised.
Best wishes to you all.

A very Busy Day
I have had a very busy day today.
I help Ican2 which is a local community group for children with disabilities.
In the morning we have a session for younger children and in the afternoon a session for the older children up to the age of 18.
If the weather is nice the session is held on the track at Oakengates Leisure Centre. This gives the children lots of space to do various activities.
Some like quiet time to do creative crafts. Others like to go on bikes, go carts or hand bikes etc. In the middle of the track there is a pitch where the children can play cricket, football or other activities that they choose.
Today the weather held for both sessions which was extremely fortunate.
Just as we were packing the equipment away and signing people out the rain arrived.
In the evening there is a session at Newport Swimming Pool which allows the children to gain confidence in the water and play with sea scooters if they wish. A separate lane is set up to do this and is supervised by 3 adults made up of staff/volunteers.
To see the children smile and progress is an amazing feeling.
I am tired but today has been so worthwhile.
