Learning in Blogland

Well you can imagine my shock this morning when I discovered a very inappropriate comment had been left on a post in my blog. It was in a foreign language and had some English in it too.

In case this happens to anyone else or they wish to delete the comment. Go to the end of the comment and look for the dustbin icon. Click on this and this gives you the opportunity to delete any such comments.

I am not going to be visiting my blog over the next couple of days and will therefore be putting comment moderation on to prevent anyone being offended in my absence.

I am sorry this has happened so please be patient with me.

It is all a learning experience and one I could have done without at this present moment in time.

Please appreciate the situation I am in and accept my apologies for the delay in accepting comments.

I hope everyone understands the circumstances I find myself in.

Best wishes to you all.

  1. This comment has been removed by the author.

  2. How horrid, I found that happen to me, though in my case the person used my blog to advertise her books! But after it happened a couple of times I did what you have had to do, and began to realise that this person was not well.

Hope you soon get over it, know how it feels when I used to find pornography with my email!

    Hugs and love, Carole.

  3. What a horrible thing to happen Fee. It's sad that some people think they do such a thing but thank you for telling us how to delete offensive comments if it should happen to us.

    Take care

  4. Hi Carole,

Yes it is a bit unsettling but I am ok.

    Best wishes

  5. Hi Sue,

Thank you for your support and help.

We all live and learn I suppose.

Best wishes to you all and thanks for making me feel better about this situation.

  6. Oh Fee, that's dreadful, but you must not let this put you off. Thank you for informing us all how to deal with it too.
Take care and hope you are ok by ths vile incident.

  7. I thought when it happened to me how do I get rid of this and rang a very supportive friend who tried their best to help.

On discovering the answer I thought that it would be useful to let everyone else know how to deal with such matters.

So comment moderation is now on and working well thanks to Sue testing it for me as when I tried to do this myself it allowed my comment instantly as I own the blog.

So today has been a lesson learnt the hard way.

    Best wishes
